Abstract: Supernumerary teeth (or hyperdontia), though relatively rare, may be the cause of several dental and oclusal disturbs, mainly in the permanent dentition, to which the general dental practitioner should be aware. This paper presents an overview of such anomaly, focusing on its diagnosis, associated clinical problems and treatment of this clinical entity.
