Resumo: Os implantes zygoma foram concebidos, originalmente, para aplicação segundo um protocolo de espera de cerca de 6 meses, antes do inicio da reabilitação protética definitiva. O conceito de função imediata utilizando implantes do sistema Brånemark®, é uma alternativa em reabilitações totais fixas de pacientes desdentados, com elevadas taxas de sucesso.
O objectivo deste artigo é demonstrar uma abordagem alternativa na reabilitação de maxilas severamente reabsorvidas, assente num protocolo de função imediata, com base em 4 implantes zygoma do sistema Brånemark® – Conceito “Quadrilex”.
